Description
Summary:The Industrial Area is located in Ciampel District, Karawang Regency, West Java. This industrial area is traversed by three rivers: Cipatunjang River, Cicasbodas River, and Citepas River, which have high flood discharge rates. This leads to flooding in the industrial area when these rivers overflow due to inadequate capacity. The industrial area, dominated by impermeable surfaces, results in very low infiltration rates, causing the drainage system to also experience overflow. This flooding condition necessitates an environmentally friendly flood control solution. The flood control is based on rainfall data with a 20-year return period. The flood control measures in this study include normalization, retention pond planning, and the application of permeable pavement in the industrial area’s parking lots. Additionally, the drainage channels in the industrial area were redesigned, with improvements and enlargements planned. Flood modeling was conducted using a 2-dimensional model with HEC-RAS software, while drainage system planning was performed using SWMM software. The research results, considering flood risk, indicate that the scenario combining normalization, retention pond planning, and the application of permeable pavement is the most effective solution.
