Description
Summary:Abstract :

Immunostimulant activity of aqueous extract of Allium sativum L. (garlic) has been studied in unimmunized mice by determining the carbon clearance, and by determining the relative weight of spleen, the quantity of limfo sit on spleen, delayed type hipersensitivization and the quantity of gamma globulin fraction in serum in immunized mice. The result showed that the extract significantly increased non specific immune response in the phagocytic ability, proliferation of immune cell in specific immune response, but did not significantly increase cellular specific immune response and the level of gamma globulin. Immune deficiency animal model for those five methods were obtained by administration of prednisone.
