The content constantly appears as advertisements from various accounts. This phenomenon is related to surveillance capitalism, where social media users' personal data is collected from their interactions and tailored to the target of the given content. This issue was raised as the main topic of the Final Project, focusing on how society is affected by the invisible power of surveillance capitalism in its daily use of social media. By examining the theory of art as an instrument and the theory of surveillance capitalism by Shoshana Zuboff, this work is realized through the theme of self-disclosure in the form of an interactive sound installation. Participants can interact with the AI and share their personal experiences through the sound installation. The data from the interaction between the participant and AI is then printed and immediately destroyed, giving the participant a sense of security that their data is protected. This Final Project entitled "Invisible Pal" aims to illustrate social media that has become our friend. But behind the entertainment of it, there are hidden activities, such as monitoring and collecting personal data and its impact on society as a social media user. text |
