Summary: | The work is a reimagination of famous artists as a a Virtual YouTuber inside of
the work, with this work being the first work from the reimagination series by the
writer. The work will use a kawaii image and using the commodity concept, all the
while combining the identity of the writer with the artist that is present inside of
the work. In the first work of this serial, the writer will be using van Gogh due to
his popularity.
The work process starts from studying the theory and medium that will be used,
consisting of Internet Art for the art theory and Consumer Culture,
Objectification, and Impression Management for the supporting theory, along
with Performative Internet Art as the medium. The creation of the 3D model will
commence using an application called as VRoid and using motion capture with a
device called as Rokoko and applications called as Warudo and RhyLive. The
writer created social medias to be used as van Gogh and also merchandises that
will be displayed as an addition to the work. After that, a livestream will be
commenced within van Gogh-chan’s YouTube channel with a Vlog kind of
livestream. The writer will do things that are well-known to be done by van Gogh,
such as painting and writing letters, but will also be bringing things done by the
writer daily, such as singing and dancing inside the bedroom.
The work has a 12m x 6m dimension. The work uses a combination of visuals from
the kawaii aesthetics and also the real paintings from van Gogh. Nyotaika concept
will also be used inside the work, turning van Gogh into a female character based
on the demography of the otaku subculture that is fulled with heterosexual males. |
