Summary:Mutual funds are an alternative investment that was created as a way to raise money from individuals who want to invest but don't have a lot of time or experience. Furthermore, it is anticipated that Mutual Funds will augment the involvement of regional investors in the capital market. The first online mutual fund investing platform was introduced in Indonesia in 2016 with the goal of encouraging more people to become investors. Subsequently, other platforms of a similar nature starter to surface. This study uses the adoption theory to examine how generation Z in Indonesia is using online mutual fund investments as the primary focus of the investigation. The Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) employs seven internal variables and three external variables. The internal variables are Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, and Habit. The external variables include User Interface, Content Design Quality, and Perceived Trust. The results, based on data collected from 212 respondents, indicate that several independent variables significantly influence the dependent variable, which is the behavioral intention to use an online mutual fund platform. These variables include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Perceived Trust, Price Value, Content Design Quality, User Interface and Habit. Additionally, two variables, Content Design Quality and User Interface, have a significant impact on both Performance Expectancy and Effort Expectancy. These findings are valuable for developers of online mutual fund investment platforms as they transition from conventional mutual fund formats to online platforms.
