INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/83882 This research analyzes the e-commerce fulfillment warehouse operations of PT XYZ using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology due to discrepancies between the targeted and actual number of orders processed per shift, from 250 orders falling short to an average of 184.64 orders processed. The main objective is to enhance operational efficiency and manpower productivity. The initial analysis reveals significant inefficiencies and high variability in order processing times, leading to delays and errors. Various root causes were identified, including Warehouse Management System synchronization issues, manual rework, lack of standards, and non-value-adding activities. The improvement phase proposed solutions such as the implementation of a Pick-to-Light (PTL) system, WMS enhancements, standardized receipt picking, and incentive schemes. These improvements are aimed at reducing errors, optimizing workflows, and increasing employee productivity. The control phase includes comprehensive training plans, documentation, and monitoring tools to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement. Implementing these improvements is expected to result in a substantial increase in order processing efficiency. Specifically, PT XYZ could see an increase in processed orders and items by 40-50%. The improvements also aim to build a more competitive and motivated workforce, addressing issues between regular and freelance employees through targeted training and incentive schemes. text
