Summary: | PT Cinquer Agro Nusantara (CAN) is a company engaged in spices and is dedicated to
providing high-quality spices for consumers. Bukara products were launched in the
Indonesian market in 2022 and its official website was created in August 2023 to reach and
attract new customers online. With the launch of the new Bukara site, Bukara's product
manager wanted to know whether the site that had been designed could be accepted and
used easily by potential users. The results of the preliminary study showed that 31
respondents (96.87%) found problems when using the Bukara site. Further evaluation is
needed for the Bukara site. The approach used to evaluate the problems of the Bukara site
is the usability concept. This study was conducted to determine the usability of the Bukara
site and to formulate improvement proposals based on the evaluation results obtained.
The usability evaluation methods used are usability testing and usability inquiry. Usability
testing is carried out using Retrospective Think-Aloud (RTA), performance measures, and
neuro-usability testing using an eye tracker. Meanwhile, usability inquiry uses the System
Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire to obtain usability assessments from participants. In
this study, there were 20 participants categorized as new users. Participants were asked to
perform four tasks selected based on the problems identified in the preliminary study results.
By considering the results of the usability evaluation, improvement proposals will be
prepared using the design thinking method. The results of the study showed that all tasks
were successfully carried out effectively, but only Task 2 was successfully carried out
efficiently.
Based on the results of the error rate calculation, there were 24 types of errors found and
22 comments related to the problems experienced through the RTA results. The eye tracker
results provide information about the participants' visual attention. The results of the SUS
questionnaire obtained a value of 58.13 which was interpreted as a D (OK) value with a
marginally acceptable rating. Based on the results of the usability evaluation, 15
improvement proposals were designed using the design thinking process in the form of a
low-fidelity prototype.
