Description
Summary:Flooding is a natural disaster that often occurs in Rumbai sub-district, Pekanbaru, Riau, especially in the Umban Sari river basin (DAS). The aim of preparing this final assignment is to conduct a flood control analysis and formulate strategies that can be used in flood control. The method used in this research is starting with hydrological analysis using Microsoft Excel and GIS then hydraulic analysis with one-dimensional modeling using HEC-RAS 6.3.1 software including simulation of river cross-section, flood height and area of existing flood inundation and simulation of control building results. planned flood. The research results show that flooding in the Umban Sari watershed is caused by several factors, including high rainfall, river overflows, river narrowing due to sedimentation, and changes in land use. Based on the results of the analysis, several recommendations for flood control strategies were prepared, such as river normalization and embankment construction. The normalization of the river is 5.4 kilometers long while the construction of embankments consisting of two types, namely earth embankments and CCSP (Corrugated Concrete Sheet Pile) embankments. These two embankments were built with a height of between 1 and 2 meters. It is hoped that the implementation of an integrated flood control strategy can reduce the negative impact of flooding on communities in the Umban Sari watershed.
