One of these equalities is the existence of equal opportunities for all groups, including people with disabilities, to be able to access transportation in order to reach inclusive areas. This study aims to explore the difficulties and phenomena that people with disabilities encounter when use Angkutan Kota, often known as Angkot. These goals were attained by using a qualitative approach that involved data collection via observations, interviews, and secondary data collection in the form of transportation and disability-related legislation. The use of thematic analysis with the help of Nvivo in this study resulted in various phenomena that were grouped into several factors, namely structural, individual, socio-cultural, and public services that contributed to equal opportunities for people with disabilities in accessing public transportation. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the challenges experienced by people with disabilities were not yet independent in accessing public transportation, requiring assistance from companions, long waiting times, conversion of sidewalks, unavailability of sidewalks, modes of transportation that were less friendly to people with disabilities, not using bus stops or terminals, non-inclusive attitudes towards the community and vehicle crews, and not participating in the transportation planning process. The expected facilities are vehicle crews that are inclusive of disabilities, maximizing existing facilities by adding facilities for people with disabilities, assistants in public transportation, voice-based information aids, and public transportation that uses a shuttle system. The recommendations given include adding facilities in city transportation in the form of utilizing voice assistant technology, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ergonomic transportation design for people with disabilities. In addition, it is necessary to evaluate policies, monitor available facilities, discuss transportation planners with people with disabilities regarding experiences and input in accessing city transportation and educate vehicle crews and the community about people with disabilities with public transportation. text
