Description
Summary:PT Nicslab Global Industri (NGI) is a company engaged in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. Along with the increasing global demand, PT NGI needs to increase production capacity. However, the company does not yet have clear and documented procedures for its production processes so the risk of errors in assembly and defective products is quite high. In addition, other processes such as marketing content creation, customer service, and resource management have also not been carried out in a structured manner. ISO 9001:2015 can be a reference for standardisation and documentation of more effective procedures to improve product quality. However, to fulfil the criteria of a management system, it requires a series of processes designed to achieve and specific policies and objectives. This has not been done by PT Nicslab Global Industri comprehensively and consistently so that it is necessary to create, redesign, and improve the current process by referring to quality standards. This research aims to develop business processes at PT NGI with a Business Process Reengineering (BPR) approach in order to improve process consistency while meeting ISO 9001: 2015 standards. The approach used in the research consists of four stages, namely preparation, mapping and analysis of the current process, design of the proposed process, and implementation of the reengineering process. BPR was conducted with two approaches, namely the clean paper approach and the systematic reengineering approach. In the clean paper approach, a new process was designed from scratch to fulfil the unmet clauses of ISO 9001:2015. The new processes created included vision and strategy setting, quality management system implementation, risk management, asset provisioning and management, and competency assessment and development. Redesign is also carried out in this approach which is carried out in the process of managing products and their updates, managing customer service, and managing distribution. Meanwhile, the systematic reengineering approach simplified and integrated existing processes to remove and integrate low-level processes. This research shows that the BPR approach equipped with business process documentation can help companies to improve process consistency, compliance with standards and management systems, and a good understanding of the company's business processes.
