RKT INDO's Business Development Expansion team, which plays a crucial role in the company's growth. PT. RKT INDO, an Indonesian property technology company, has extended its business activities beyond the Jabodetabek area to additional regions. Nevertheless, the business development team's performance in the expansion areas, which is managed remotely, has been less successful compared to the team in the Jabodetabek area, which is managed directly. The discrepancy in performance underscores the necessity to examine the elements that impact the efficacy of distant leadership. The main goals of this research are to determine the underlying reasons for inefficient remote leadership, suggest an optimal framework for remote leadership, and provide recommendations for enhancing remote leadership practices at PT. RKT INDO. The study systematically addresses the problem by utilizing the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) framework. Data collection entails conducting comprehensive interviews with key persons and utilizing secondary sources such as company documents and pertinent literature. Methods such as fishbone analysis and the 5 Whys technique are employed to uncover and examine the underlying reasons. The investigation identifies numerous crucial factors that impact the performance of the remote team, which may be classified into three primary domains: Leadership and Management, Tools and Technology, and Skill and Impact. Significant issues encompass the nonexistence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), deficiency of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), inadequate incorporation with support divisions, centralized data management, intricacy of products, insufficient regular training, and the absence of an integrated system for overseeing remote operations. In order to tackle these problems, the study suggests creating thorough Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee uniform understanding of products and collaboration among team members, setting up specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track daily tasks and efficiency, improving communication with support departments through regular virtual meetings, adopting a decentralized data management strategy, streamlining product options, and conducting frequent and detailed training sessions. Furthermore, it is recommended to implement an integrated management system in order to optimize workflows and enhance productivity. text
