EVALUASI USABILITY DAN PERBAIKAN APLIKASI SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK MYSIX INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG

To organize students' academic activities, ITB has a web-based academic information system called the Academic Information System - SIX ITB and the application version of SIX, MySIX. MySIX has a simpler design and denser features compared to the SIX website. The results of a preliminary study revealed that 78.8% of students preferred SIX to MySIX. This study aims to evaluate and find usability problems in MySIX and provide suggestions for improvements to improve the usability of MySIX. The usability evaluation of the MySIX application measures three usability parameters, namely effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction, and measures brain waves for metric measurements. The methods used in this study are performance measurement and retrospective think aloud (RTA) to measure effectiveness and efficiency, System Usability Score (SUS) questionnaire to measure user satisfaction, and EEG to measure mental workload using the Muse portable EEG device. The study was divided into eight tasks and conducted on 14 ITB students. The results of the study showed that the MySIX application was effective and did not cause a high mental workload, but the application was still less efficient and the user satisfaction score was still below ideal. Therefore, improvements are still made to the application interface. There are nine improvements to the application interface, which are changing the Login interface, adding shortcuts to features on the Homepage, changing the design of the navigation tab, changing the Schedule submenu, changing the bottom navigation bar, moving and changing the chat feature icon with the academic advisor, changing the appearance of the Profile menu, changing the system of opening the payment method, and changing the design of the selection tab.
