Beside that, investment casting has good cast ability with a large variety of alloys and also it can be applied to parts with intricate geometry combined with high accuracy. Steps in investment casting are the production of wax pattern (by injecting wax into metal mold), production of ceramic mold (by applying wax pattern into ceramic slurry) and the metal casting into ceramic mold. This final project is focused in mold production for wax pattern. With growing of complication level and accuracy level at products which wish to be yielded, hence usage of CAD/CAM for the making of this mold cannot be avoided again. In this occasion, it will be described some considerations in mold modeling process using Space-E/Modeler Version 4.2. Next, machining process plan for manufacturing the mold is made using Space-E/CAM Version 4.2 by considering various machining parameters. The machining process will be done by using First MCV 300 NC milling machine which uses Fanuc Oi-MC as its post processor. So, the machining process plan will be translated into G-Code that can be used for that NC milling machine. In making decisions for some parameters in both mold modeling and mold machining plan, author does literature study and some discusses with the mold producer. Result of this project is the creation of G-Code as NC programming language that can be run in First MCV 300 NC milling machine in order to manufacture this mold. Author expects this article can give some idea contributions, knowledge or comparisons for other party who need some material about mold production for wax pattern in investment casting process. text
