This map presents spectral acceleration in three vibration periods at specific hazard levels, written in terms of earthquake return periods. Periodic updates to the earthquake hazard map are recommended in the 2010 Indonesia Earthquake Hazard Map report due to recent studies that identify new earthquake sources or update seismic parameters. Advances in data recording technology and earthquake hazard analysis software also necessitate updates to the hazard map. Therefore, to follow up on these recommendations, research is conducted to update the earthquake source and hazard map for Indonesia for the 2024 period. The research includes probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) for various structural vibration periods at specific earthquake hazard levels (earthquake return periods) for the latest sources and parameters of subduction (megathrust), fault (fault), and background earthquakes. The input source parameters use the Gutenberg-Richter (GR) distribution method and characteristics (char). Earthquake hazard analysis is conducted using the USGS PSHA program, applying a three-dimensional model for subduction and fault sources, and a gridded seismicity model for background sources. The latest ground motion attenuation equations used in this research are NGA West 2 for deep subduction and background sources, and NGA Subduction for fault sources and shallow background sources. The research produces a draft of the earthquake hazard map for all regions of Indonesia, depicting spectral acceleration at three vibration periods: PGA, 0.2s, and 3.0s, with hazard levels of 2500 years. This draft serves as a proposal for the 2024 National Earthquake Hazard Map, which will be used as a guideline for designing earthquake-resistant buildings in Indonesia through both linear and nonlinear response analysis. text |
