Description
Summary:Indonesia produces a high amount of waste in the form of cow’s blood and chicken feces. Both waste are extremely damaging to the environment and exist in massive numbers. Cow’s blood and chicken feces can be bioconverted to maggot waste organic fertilizer. This research’s goal is to analyze the effect of maggot waste organic fertilizer from cow’s blood and chicken feces substrate on water spinach. Determining the optimum dose of maggot waste organic fertilizer from cow’s blood and chicken feces substrate to support water spinach’s growth and yield. Maggot waste organic fertilizer was made first in a biopond by mixing 3kg of cow’s blood, 16,8 kg of chicken feces, 200ml EM4, and 2g/biopond of 7 day old maggot, then wait until the substrate was converted to fertilizer. Water spinach are cultivated in 20 x 30cm polybag for 24 days. Plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, number of branches, fresh weight, and dry weight are observed and collected. The data are processed by ANOVA test and Tukey test. In conclusion, maggot waste organic fertilizer dosage does have a real effect on growth and yield of water spinach and 15,31kg is the best dosage for optimal average growth and yield.
