CULTIVATION SYSTEM INTEGRATED WITH ORGANIC FERTILIZER PRODUCTION FROM PALM OIL WASTE ON POST-COAL MINING LAND Adsyah Razaq, Ahmad Indonesia Final Project biomass, citronella, manure, oil, oil palm, waste INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/84439 Coal mining causes damage to the environment, especially the degradation of soil quality, resulting in the lack of nutrients and organic matter in the soil. Reclamation of disturbed land due to mining activities must be carried out and the selection of commodities must be appropriate given the non-ideal conditions of the planting area. Citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) is an adaptive plant in the post-mining environment and can be utilized as a commodity that not only helps reclamation activities but can be utilized as an economic product. The oil palm plantation industry (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) produces two types of waste that can be used as organic fertilizer, namely waste of Empty Palm Oil Bunches commonly called tangkos/jangkos and Wet Decanter Solid (WDS) waste commonly called solid. Tangkos fertilizer, solid fertilizer and manure can be used to meet the nutritional needs of citronella grass plants in order to produce optimal production. This study aims to analyze the effect of a combination of manure, jangkos, and solid organic fertilizers on the growth and biomass yield of citronella grass. The growth of citronella grass was measured by variables of plant height, leaf length, number of tillers, and canopy widht while biomass yield was measured by variables of leaf fresh weight, shoot-root ratio, leaf moisture content, and citronella oil yield. This study used manure derived from cow manure waste as well as jangkos fertilizer and decomposed solid obtained from oil palm plantation areas. Based on the quantification results of citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) Sitrona 2 Agribun plants, it was found that the treatment of the composition of manure, jangkos, and solid had no effect on plant growth variables such as leaf length, number of tillers, and canopy width as well as on plant biomass results in the form of leaf wet weight, shoot-root ratio, and leaf moisture content. The P1 treatment is the best treatment on plant height variables. In the oil yield variable, the three treatments produced different yield values, namely P2 (1.7%), P3 (1.42%), and P1 (1.08%). text
