This study aims to understand the relationship between economic incentives and the execution of plastic bag policies to the reduction in waste within Indonesia. The collection of data for this study is based on the collection of plastic bag prices from 43 non-governmental organizations to measure the economic incentives. Furthermore, 65 different cities and regencies were observed as a measurement of the execution of policy. The results provide a contrasting perspective in which both economic incentives and execution of policy are not significantly related to the reduction of waste. This study provides insights into the waste management programs and policies in a developing country. text
