Summary: | The disaster event of the earthquake that occurred in 2022 in Cianjur Regency
resulted in fatalities, missing persons, and injuries, building damage, and
infrastructure destruction, causing access disruptions. The earthquake was the
most destructive compared to previous earthquake events, disrupting the fulfillment
of basic needs for the people of Cianjur Regency, and hindering the recovery
process, especially for vulnerable and poor communities, which will slow down the
recovery process and increase unemployment and poverty rates in Cianjur
Regency. To address this, the state needs to provide social welfare aimed at
individuals, groups, or communities with social problems, as specified in Law No.
11 of 2009, so it is necessary to understand adaptive social protection for
earthquake disasters as an effort to reduce disaster risk in Cianjur Regency. This
study aims to understand the opportunities for applying adaptive social protection
in Cianjur Regency, particularly regarding earthquake and landslide disasters. The
research approach uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative
analysis method. Data collection was conducted through interviews with
government officials regarding the application of social protection in Cianjur
Regency on each aspect of disaster management, both before, during (emergency
response), and after the disaster. Subsequent data from relevant institutions wereiv
also obtained. This study recommends forms of adaptive social protection
opportunities based on the risk layering conducted against earthquake and
landslide disasters. |
