One of the factors contributing to its success is the presence of institutions that refer to structure, authority, and rules to achieve agreed-upon goals. However, permaculture institutions have not been explored in terms of their existence, both locally and regionally, especially in West Bandung Regency. The field study found that only two permaculture practices are distributed in two villages, namely Cisarua Village (Rumah Kayu Permaculture) and Padalarang Village (Kebun Hanif Regenerative Culture). A comprehensive institutional mapping was conducted using the Institutional Analysis and Development (IAD) Framework to define the conditions of permaculture in West Bandung Regency and resolve the research objectives of this study. This study aims to identify permaculture and analyze conceptual units (actors and action situations), review sustainability status in four dimensions (social, ecological, economic, and institutional dimensions), and determine strategies for permaculture institutional development. The analyses used to address each objective include the MACTOR tool for reviewing conceptual units, MDS-Rapfarm for reviewing sustainability status, and SWOT IE for strategy determination. Based on the study results, characteristics of permaculture were identified across five variables and conceptual units in actor reviews with the highest influence levels originating from internal groups (managers, workers, and permaculture volunteers). Sustainability status indicates weaknesses (poor) in the social dimension and institutional dimension with scores of 49.92% and 37.22%, respectively. Thus, three priority strategies are identified focusing on growth and development (Grow and Build) in local institutional development. text
