Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing System (ADiMS) is one of manufacturing system that can fulfil this condition. One of machine tool in ADiMS is lathe. Lathe can be used for large application. Because of that, it's needed a high skill of person to understand lathe's elements. By a smart lathe model, a lathe process planning will produce a uniform product, faster and in optimum condition, without neglect product quality. These modeling uses object oriented method. This method will make a object become natural appropriate with reality. Smart lathe model consists of four supporting modules. They are workshop data management, machine tool data management, machining data management, and tooling system management. Helped by these modules, this system will have four intelligences. They are: it haves data management function, likes adding data, editing data, and deleting data; it haves tool set alternative selection function; it haves operation parameter selection function; and it haves machining cost calculation function. <br /> text |
