Development in the sector of economy, technology, tourism, education and so on all require electricity to be present and support every process of its program. Therefore, the availability and reliability of electricity are the main factors for PT PLN (Persero) to be able to continue to improve its performance. The availability and reliability of electricity must be supported by the performance of each sector in PLN starting from the Generation Sector, Transmission Sector and Distribution Sector, so that the quality of service can be felt directly by the end customer. Especially for the transmission sector, many factors can affect the performance of availability and reliability, that related to the condition of the main material transmission/Material Transmisi Utama (MTU) which already has an old operating age (20-25 years of operation) and even up to a very old age (more than 25 years of operation). The equipment is still operating until now and poses a great risk to the continuity of PLN's business, because the equipment can be a time bomb that can explode at any time because the equipment has passed its End Of Life period. This research will explore scenario planning to determine the best method for equipment/MTU replacement in the Transmission sector of PT PLN (Persero). The scenario planning stages go through 5 stages, that is orientation, exploration, scenario development, option consideration with implementation and integration. The four scenarios are Breakdown Based Replacement (BBR), Condition Based Replacement (CBR), Time Based Replacement (TBR) and Innovation Based Replacement (IBR). This study explains the implications, options and strategies for each scenario which can be used as considerations for PT PLN (Persero) to provide proactive decisions and produce good strategies for each scenario. The main parameters used as guidelines in selecting this scenario are the level of reliability that can be achieved and the costs incurred to run the scenario. text
