Attackers can access victims’ personal data and use it without their permission, posing a significant threat. To counteract cyber attack, it is crucial to strengthen web security systems. Commonly, websites use ID and passwords for data access, but this method is vulnerable if the credentials are leaked. Therefore, a more robust system is needed to ensure that even with the ID and password, unauthorized access is prevented. This thesis proposes using Ciphertext Policy - Attribute Based Encryption (CP-ABE) strengthened with RSA encryption to enhance data security. CP-ABE encrypts data within an access structure and issues keys only to individuals who meet the specified attributes, thereby restricting access to unauthorized users. RSA encryption, known for its robustness due to the difficulty of factoring large integers, further secures the data. One practical application of CP-ABE in this thesis is securing the Permanent Voter List for elections. Given the high stakes of electoral data and the recent cases of data breaches in Indonesia, such as the sale of voter data for the 2024 elections, this application is timely and crucial. By implementing CP-ABE with RSA, the thesis aims to create a secure and easily implementable system for protecting sensitive data in Indonesia. text
