Reservoir Z-850 in the X field is part of the North Sumatra Basin. In this study reservoir Z-850 is selected as a zone to be developed because this one has primary recovery lower than the other zones have. Reservoir Z-850 is divided into two compartments, east compartment and central compartment, by a fault. Primary recovery of these reservoirs is estimated to be about 20percent for the east compartment and 25percent for the central compartment. To increase the recovery level, advanced methods are required. Currently the east compartment has two producing wells, while the central compartment has no one active well.
