Summary:Endogenous growth theory states that the idea of regional economic growth and development may be supported by local internal forces. The endogenous development approach argues that capital accumulation is a key process in economic growth. The ability to carry out selfdevelopment and mobilize economic potential is a characteristic of the idea of endogenous development. Based on the literature, social innovation is related to neo-endogenous growth. Social innovation depends on the process of increasing awareness, mobilization, and learning. One form of social innovation is community development. Asset Based Community Development is one approach to community development that states that as an alternative approach, its appeal lies in its premise that communities can drive their own development process by identifying and mobilizing existing assets by responding to and creating local economic opportunities. The Condet area is one of the areas in Jakarta City that has a long history and is famous for its uniqueness and distinctiveness related to its potential. This is interesting to study and research to see the characteristics of asset based community development in the Condet area and how the process of asset development in the Condet area. The research was conducted using a qualitative method by analyzing the characteristics of social capital and the process of asset mobilization. The results of the study show that basically the community in the Condet area has sufficient social capital as a basis for asset development. The Condet area has the potential for natural and cultural assets, where the parties involved in identifying and developing these assets are local residents as initiators and innovators. In addition, the existence of problems related to the threat of erosion of local culture and environmental problems has triggered the emergence of asset development initiatives in the Condet area.
