Summary: | Research regarding the potential and feasibility of developing sustainable
natural tourism on Pramuka Island is important, considering current research on
this topic is still minimal. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing
the characteristics of the bioecological potential and physical conditions of
Pramuka Island’s natural tourism as well as tourists visiting Pramuka Island. In
addition, this research aims to identify the potential for natural tourism on
Pramuka Island and analyze the feasibility of developing sustainable natural
tourism on Pramuka Island based on the ADO-ODTWA criteria guidelines. Data
collection was carried out through observation, questionnaires, and interviews.
Furthermore, the data was processed for ADO-DOTWA assessment. The data
was analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The
method for analyzing the potential of natural tourism employs the modified
ADO-ODTWA guidelines, as set forth by the Director General of PHKA in 2003.
Pramuka Island has the characteristics of bioecological and environmental
physical conditions that support the survival of coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass,
and sea turtles. Pramuka Island offers a variety of sustainable natural tourism
attractions, including snorkelling, diving, mangrove planting, seagrass planting, sea turtle sanctuary, sea turtle release, coral reef transplantation, fishing, and
water sports. In accordance with the ADO-ODTWA criteria and their respective
feasibility indices, the following ratings were assigned Attractiveness (96,67%),
Market Potential (51,05%), Accessibility (86,11%), Climate (70%),
Accommodation (100%), Facilities and Infrastructure (100%), Availability of
Clean Water (83,33%), Relationship the Nearby Tourist Attractions (100%),
Visitor Security (87,50%), Area Carrying Capacity (83,33%), Visitor
Management (83,33%), Marketing (100%), and Market Share (94,44%),
According to the ADO-ODTWA guidelines, Pramuka Island is considered
suitable for development. The ADO-ODTWA potential classification for each
criterion is included in the high category, with the exception of the market
potential criterion, which is classified as medium. |
