Summary: | Land cover changes (LCC) show continuous changes in characteristics such as vegetation types, soil properties, and others. Cianjur Regency, which has topographic characteristics of mountainous and hilly areas with agricultural and plantation potential, is inseparable from the phenomenon of land cover change. Cianjur Regency also has great potential in the agriculture, plantation and forestry sectors with bamboo as one of the products of the forestry sector. There has not been much research conducted on the potential of bamboo, especially in Cianjur Regency. This study aims to describe the development of land cover during 2019 - 2023 and model the distribution of bamboo in Cianjur Regency. Land cover classification was conducted using Google Earth Engine through supervised classification method with random forest model algorithm by dividing land cover into five classes, namely water, agriculture, built-up land, bare land, and tree cover. Bamboo distribution modeling was conducted using Maxent (Maximum Entropy) with 100 presence points, and environmental variables such as land cover, elevation, slope, aspect, leaf area index (LAI), land surface temperature (LST), precipitation, and distance from river. Based on the results of the study, land cover change in Cianjur Regency experienced the largest increase in agricultural land with an area of 8,339 ha and the largest decrease in tree land cover with an area of 6,013 ha. Through bamboo distribution estimation modeling, the potential area of bamboo in Cianjur Regency is 49,697 ha consisting of 7 species of bamboo. |
