Summary: | Recent research on vannamei shrimp is conducted in various regions due to its high
economic value. However, to cultivate vannamei shrimp effectively, special attention
must be paid to water quality, and the latest technology must be utilized to support
more efficient and effective shrimp farming practices. This study aims to evaluate the
impact of using fine bubble diffusers as aerators on water quality and the growth of
vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei). Fine bubble diffusers are an aeration
technology that generates small air bubbles to increase dissolved oxygen (DO) levels
in water. The research was conducted using a small-scale experimental method in
vannamei shrimp farming ponds, where two ponds were equipped with fine bubble
diffusers, while one pond was used as a control with a conventional aeration system
(Kandila ECO-1200). Observations were made on several water quality parameters,
including DO levels, temperature, salinity, and pH. Additionally, the growth of
vannamei shrimp was measured by the average weight of the shrimp at specific
intervals. The results showed that the use of fine bubble diffusers significantly
increased DO levels compared to the built-in aquarium filter. This increase in DO had
a positive impact to the growth of vannamei shrimp. Additionally, the addition of a
Fine Bubble Diffuser can also help stabilize the pH in the water. The growth of
vannamei shrimp also showed better results in the ponds using fine bubble diffusers,
with faster weight gain compared to the control pond. These findings suggest that fine
bubble diffusers not only improve water quality but also create a more conducive
environment for the growth of vannamei shrimp |
