THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NUMBER OF PATIENTS OR ACTIVITIES AND WASTEWATER QUANTITY AND QUALITY (CASE STUDY: DR. M. SALAMUN AIR FORCE HOSPITAL)

The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of hospital activities, namely the number of inpatient days and the number of outpatient visits on the quantity of waste water. The linear regression model shows that each outpatient surgery visit produces 167 liters of grey water, hemodialysis...

The linear regression model shows that each outpatient surgery visit produces 167 liters of grey water, hemodialysis produces 271 liters of grey water/visit, each day of obgyn inpatient treatment produces 1,328 liters of grey water and each day of other inpatient treatment produces 46 liters of grey water. The ratio of grey water was about 62 % of the clean water used in this hospital. The second objective is to obtain an overview of the daily quality characteristics of liquid waste - on different days within the research time period. The results show that the test parameters are generally low on Friday and high on Sunday. Parameters that have been low since at the Inlet are TDS, Oil and Fat, and Detergent (MBAS). Meanwhile, the parameters that are still high in the Inlet are TSS, BOD, COD, Ammonia Nitrogen, Coliform. The third objective is to analyze the characteristics of several Sump Pits before the main Sump Pit (IPAL Inlet). The results show that the test parameters tend to be high in Sump Pit B and Sump Pit D; tends to be low in Sump Pit A and Sump Pit C. The fourth objective is to obtain an overview of the quality of liquid waste before and after the Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL). The results show that some parameters were still high at Inlet, but after WWTP all test parameters at the Outlet met the Quality Standards. The fifth objective is to determine the efficiency of the IPAL. The results show that he highest efficiency of TDS is 32.43%; BOD 92.75%; COD 92.64%; TSS 94.29%; Oils and Fats 80%; Detergent (MBAS) 96.51%; Ammonia Nitrogen 98.11%; Coliforms 95.17% text
