Summary: | Prosthetics are mobility aids for amputees that function to resemble natural body parts. Prosthetics need to be designed in such a way that their shape, mechanism and structure can resemble the anatomy of the missing limb so that the amputee can easily adapt to the use of the prosthetic and the user can be more comfortable operating it.
The FTMD ITB Biomechanics Laboratory has designed a multi-axis prosthetic leg made of polymer and has a rotator component that functions to carry out folding movements. It is hoped that this prosthetic will help amputees in Indonesia, be sold at an affordable price, and improve the quality of prosthetics in terms of functionality and safety. To test the safety factor, this knee prosthetic component was tested using static knee locks using the ISO 10328 document as standard.
The methods used in this research include design, manufacturing and testing processes. Design and manufacturing were carried out to obtain a test jig for the Tensilon RTF 1310 testing machine that complies with the parameters listed in ISO 10328. This jig also has high stiffness characteristics as much as possible and can also grip the sample well. Testing is carried out by testing knee locks for proof and ultimate strength,
The results obtained are that in the design and manufacturing process, a jig product is produced that is stiff and can also hold the prosthetic well for the testing process. The results obtained from the testing process also showed that there was no slip phenomenon and the test samples were successfully tested for knee locks proof and ultimate strength |
