Summary: | Digital map applications have become everyday services used by their users.
However, these applications still provide general geographic information and do
not offer detailed information. For example, at the Bandung Institute of Technology
(ITB), the application cannot provide information or navigation regarding buildings
within ITB. As a result, the desired user interaction of searching for information
and navigation within the ITB area has not been fulfilled.
The main goal of this final project is to create the interaction design and front-end
interface of a digital map for the Bandung Institute of Technology. The
development of this interaction design uses a user-centered design approach, which
consists of several stages, including determining the context of use, identifying user
needs, developing low-fidelity prototypes, and developing high-fidelity prototypes.
The expected usability goals are effective to use and efficient to use, while the
expected user experience goals are helpful and engaging.
The final result of this project is the front-end website for the ITB digital map
service, developed using React and Mapbox. The prototype development process is
also accompanied by testing to gather feedback and assess changes in achieving
usability and user experience goals in each iteration. The testing results show an
improvement in achievement between the first and second iterations, indicating that
the interaction design for the ITB digital map service has been successfully fulfilled. |
