Summary: | Indonesia's coastline is the second largest in the world. Rainfall greatly influences
life, because all living things depend on rainfall water, such as drinking water for
humans and animals, as well as photosynthesis for plants. The characteristic of rain
that forms on the coast is because LSB (Land-Sea Breeze) has a high frequency due
to the area of the coast itself and other influences. Therefore, the influence of coastal
area and the contribution of SB to rainfall makes SB very important to research in
Indonesia. Indonesia's coastline is the second largest in the world. Rainfall greatly

Sea-breeze-day (SBD) simulations in the big city of Jakarta using the WRF model
were studied continuing previous research. The model simulations have been
previously evaluated with cloud cover from satellites and meteorological
observation data with high temporal resolution in 2017 and 2018. In this study, the
diurnal variation of SBD will be studied in the wet months (December-JanuaryFebruary)
and the dry months (June-July- August).
This research found that with the WRF model the sea breeze in Jakarta is mostly 30
minutes (onset time) and 1-1.5 hours (decay time) faster in the wet months
(December) compared to the dry months (June-July-August). However, for the wet
months (January-February) the frequency (60-64% > 40-56%), duration (30-60
minutes), and propagation speed (2-14 m/s) are greater than in the dry months. The
influence of temperature differences between land and ocean produced by the
model is the determining factor.
