Summary:The development of marine and fisheries sectors based on the Banda Sea is crucial for Maluku Province, as it is part of the Fisheries Management Area of the Republic of Indonesia (WPP-RI) 714 and has been designated as a National Fish Barn (LIN). To support this, information on the spatial and temporal influence of sea parameters such as nitrate, phosphate, chlorophyll, dissolved oxygen, and Ekman transport on primary productivity in the Banda Sea is essential. The data used in this analysis includes reanalysis data from Marine Copernicus and CCMP for the period 1993 to 2020, covering various oceanographic parameters like nitrate, phosphate, chlorophyll, and dissolved oxygen. High concentrations of nitrate and phosphate are generally found in coastal areas and upwelling zones influenced by Ekman transport, indicating high fertility in the Banda Sea waters. Based on Pearson correlation analysis, it was found that chlorophyll levels have a very strong correlation (0.966) with primary productivity (PP), while dissolved oxygen also shows a strong correlation (0.852) with PP. Phosphate exhibits a negative correlation (-0.144) with PP, while nitrate (0.751) and wind (0.655) have positive correlations. These findings reveal the complexity of interactions between environmental factors in influencing primary productivity in the Banda Sea. According to the Minister of Environment Regulation No. 4 of 2011, the Banda Sea is a fertile and nutrient-rich area, strongly supporting the development of the marine and fisheries sectors in Maluku.
