Along with the development of digital technology, mobile health (mHealth) applications are considered as one of the tools that can be used to improve medication adherence. To date, many health apps have been developed. However, their usage and impact in the community have not been well-identified. This study aims to identify the level of usage and usefulness of mHealth applications on medication adherence in Bandung City and to analyze the correlation between sociodemographic factors and medication-related factors with the level of mHealth usage and the level of medication adherence in Bandung City. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional observational method with purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted from January to June 2024 by distributing questionnaires to people in 30 sub-districts of Bandung City. The results showed that most people in Bandung City (70%, n=335) used mHealth for various purposes such as curative, preventive, and educative. Most of the people in Bandung City who did not use mHealth argued that they had not tried mHealth directly, but most of them (67.36%, n=95) were interested in using mHealth in the future. More than half of mHealth users (52.84%, n=177) perceived that mHealth provided hight benefits. Although weak, there was a significant influence (p<0.05) between average income per month and number of medications on the level of mHealth usage, and between age; average income per month; and variation in medication taking time on medication adherence. In addition, the level of mHealth usage and user-perceived benefits had a strong effect on medication adherence (p < 0.05). text
