Tandya (2023) developed an algorithm for migrating relational database to document-oriented NoSQL database, but it relied on estimated workload information. The log of the relational database, which stores information related to timestamps and types of operations, can be used to analyze access patterns within the database and derive workload information that can be considered during migration. The analysis begins by processing the relational database logs into workload information, including GAF, UAF, and MAF values, with MAF being calculated based on the total GAF value. Next, several modifications were made to the migration algorithm proposed by Tandya (2023), such as considering cases where all tables have at least one foreign key and detailing the proposed data mapping mechanism. The tool was developed using the designed algorithm, starting with defining the functional requirements, which were then modeled using activity diagram and class diagram. Testing results show that the tool effectively performed migration from relational database to document-oriented NoSQL database based on the log, accordance with the previously designed migration algorithm. Additionally, the migrated document- oriented NoSQL database demonstrated robust performance on queries derived from relational database logs. text |

As technology advances, the limitations of relational database have driven the need
for NoSQL databases. Tandya (2023) developed an algorithm for migrating
relational database to document-oriented NoSQL database, but it relied on
estimated workload information. The log of the relational database, which stores
information related to timestamps and types of operations, can be used to analyze
access patterns within the database and derive workload information that can be
considered during migration.
The analysis begins by processing the relational database logs into workload
information, including GAF, UAF, and MAF values, with MAF being calculated
based on the total GAF value. Next, several modifications were made to the
migration algorithm proposed by Tandya (2023), such as considering cases where
all tables have at least one foreign key and detailing the proposed data mapping
mechanism. The tool was developed using the designed algorithm, starting with
defining the functional requirements, which were then modeled using activity
diagram and class diagram.
Testing results show that the tool effectively performed migration from relational
database to document-oriented NoSQL database based on the log, accordance with
the previously designed migration algorithm. Additionally, the migrated document-
oriented NoSQL database demonstrated robust performance on queries derived
from relational database logs. |
