Bauxite is the primary source of aluminum metal, as it is a deposit rich in alumina. In human life, many objects are made from aluminum, such as building frameworks, mobile phones, kitchenware, etc. This study aims to estimate the grade and concretion factor variables in bauxite deposits using two geostatistical methods: Ordinary Kriging (OK) and Multiple Indicator Kriging (MIK), in order to achieve more accurate resource estimation, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of mining processes. The data used in this study were obtained from drilling results at a bauxite mining site in Indonesia. The results indicate that the MIK method provides a more accurate estimate of bauxite grade with a higher level of precision based on swath plot analysis and global mean. Thus, this study demonstrates that the appropriate use of geostatistical methods can improve accuracy and efficiency in estimating key variables in bauxite deposits, ultimately contributing to more effective and sustainable mineral resource management. text |
