OPTIMIZATION OF THE NUMBER OF TRUCKS ON PT ABC'S HAULING ROAD CONSIDERING COSTS AND CO2 EMISSIONS WITH ROAD TRAFFIC DENSITY ANALYSIS

One way to transport coal is by truck. PT ABC is a coal company that transports coal from the CPP to the port using several types of trucks. If there is an increase in productivity, the number of trucks will increase. The increased number of trucks will impact the density of coal transportation roads. According to KEPMEN 1827.K/30/MEM/2018, the implementation of transportation must not exceed 80% of the capacity of the transportation route. Therefore, optimizing the type and number of trucks is necessary to minimize coal transportation costs and CO2 emitted from the transportation activity. The epsilon-constraint method is used to optimize the type and number of trucks in a scenario of 20 – 50 million tons of coal production per annum, with the type and number of trucks determined based on the focus of the decision maker's interests on costs or CO2 emissions. The optimization results for minimum production of 20 – 50 million tons show that the types of trucks selected are the FH16 truck (120 tons) and the R260 A6 X 4HZ truck (180 tons). Costs and CO2 emissions have an inverse relationship. When costs are minimal, CO2 emissions are higher than the minimum value, and vice versa. text
