| Summary: | Astrotourism is a form of tourism that focuses on astronomical phenomena or
facilities as its main attractions. Astrotourism can be developed in various ways,
including by utilizing existing tourist destinations that contain astronomical
elements, such as archaeological sites. Borobudur Temple, one of the most
famous archaeological sites in Indonesia, is known to contain several astronomical
aspects, as indicated by various studies. However, the knowledge about
Borobudur as an archaeoastronomy site remains limited, especially among tour
guides. This lack of knowledge results in tourists not receiving information
about the astronomical aspects of Borobudur Temple. This study aims to further
develop previous research findings to make them more accessible to tour
guides at Borobudur Temple. The astronomical information will be packaged
into tourism narratives that are engaging for the general public. The data
collection methods used in this study include literature review, surveys, and
interviews with relevant sources. It is hoped that this study will contribute to
the development of astronomical tourism at Borobudur Temple.
