This model successfully forecasted a considerable rise in water flow emanating from the drawpoints at the extraction level, which reached its zenith at 3,111 gallons per minute (gpm) in April 2021. Subsequent drainage activities effectively mitigated the passive inflow at the extraction level from April to September 2021, reducing it to approximately 2,000 gpm. It is noteworthy that the predicted water flow in the base case scenario was lower than the actual observed flow, primarily because the model did not incorporate prospective drainage operations. Nevertheless, it is imperative to manage the anticipated surge in water flow through preemptive drainage measures to avert potential disruptions to future mining operations. text |
