description |
The phenomenon of sea water rising towards land when the sea level rises above
the earth's surface is called natural flooding caused by tides or tidal waves. The
main impact of rising sea levels will be felt by the Indonesian population, most of
whom live along the coast. Coastal areas are transition areas between sea and land.
This condition creates pressure on coastal areas due to various activities and
phenomena on land and sea. Coastal phenomena such as erosion, flooding and
activities carried out such as housing construction, deforestation for rice fields,
ponds, etc. ultimately affect the coastal ecosystem. Also marine phenomena such as
tidal waves, storms, etc. Tidal waves are sea waves that exceed normal limits and
cause damage to the sea and land, especially in coastal areas. In fact, these waves
are caused by climate change, where strong winds and heavy rain cause storms in
the middle of the sea, and then storms on the coast. Amurang District, precisely in
the coastal area on the Amurang Boulevard beach, in certain years and months
there are quite large tidal waves as a result of This is the retreat of the coastline
which has an impact on residential areas living in the coastal area of Boulevard
Amurang. This causes along the coast to be affected by wave currents which cause
damage to infrastructure on the coast such as breakwaters and embankments.
Looking at the level of risk it is necessary to weight it, and to look at the condition
of the infrastructure it is necessary to identify it and to anticipate wave heights it is
necessary to forecast future wave heights. . This research uses a type of research
with a combination approach (mix method) to describe the data needed in this
research. Combined research methods (mix methods) are a research method
between quantitative methods and qualitative methods that are used together.
Qualitative descriptive is used to see the condition of existing infrastructure in
response to tidal wave disasters. This descriptive analysis is carried out from the
results of field observations. Meanwhile, quantitative is used to calculate risk
values and predict wave height |
