This port is strategically positioned near international trade routes and is equipped with modern facilities to handle various types of dry bulk cargo, such as metal ores, coal, and other raw materials. The development of this port aims to enhance logistics efficiency, strengthen Indonesia's export capacity, and support industrial and economic growth in the region. This Final Project discusses the planning and structural design of a dry bulk terminal in Kuala Tanjung, Batubara Regency, North Sumatra. The design of the terminal structure is conducted in accordance with the British Standard, Technical Standards and Commentaries for Port and Harbour Facilities in Japan, Indonesian National Standards, Port Designer’s Handbook, American Society of Civil Engineers, Fentek Marine Fendering Systems, and Trelleborg Marine Systems. The scope of this Final Project includes processing secondary data, calculating loading components and structural elements, determining structural dimensions, modeling the structure using SAP 2000, designing reinforcement for structural elements, and conducting a soil bearing capacity analysis. The modeling criteria must satisfy an UCR value ranging from 0.7 to 1, deflection values not exceeding permissible limits, and internal forces and support reactions being utilized in the soil bearing capacity analysis. The planned terminal dimensions are 510 meters in length, 46 meters in width, with an elevation of +5 meters from LWS, and the utilized water depth is -14.5 meters from LWS. The structural elements of the terminal include beams, slabs, pile caps, and piles. After optimization, the pile dimensions used are 1930 mm in diameter and 96 mm in thickness, with the pile driven to a depth of 26.7 meters from the seabed elevation based on the soil bearing capacity analysis. The results of this Final Project include the design plan comprising terminal structure dimensions, berthing and mooring facilities for ships, structural element dimensions, reinforcement design for structural elements, and soil bearing capacity analysis. text
