Summary: | Architecture and the construction sector play a large role in the progress of civilization. Architecture in the form of artificial objects needs to make many compromises with the natural environment that was already alive. The International Energy Agency and the United Nations Environment Program have released that construction and buildings are responsible for 30 percent of global energy use, 26 percent of global energy-related emissions, and 37 percent of global carbon emissions. This large number implies that the planet's life index has degraded by up to 70 percent in the last 50 years (starting from 1970 by the World Wide Fund for Nature). Advances in science and technology, especially in architecture, can now be an asset for combining the artificial and natural environment more healthily. Green architecture exists as an idea to eradicate environmental issues by providing a note that architecture must respect the surrounding nature and be sustainable. At least, currently, many large companies have a high level of sensitivity to environmental issues, one of which is Google. Google is not only present as a technology giant but more deeply, they want the place where they work to provide a positive response to the environment. Sustainable Building, Biophilic Design, and Human-Centered Placemaking are concepts that are proposed to create a living environment that is friendly to the surrounding natural environment. These concepts were then designed architecturally in the Indonesian context, specifically in Technopolis Gedebage, Bandung as an office with a green architectural approach that has a good contribution to the environment. |
