According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, North Sumatra is the second largest Arabica Coffee producer in Indonesia after Aceh province. In Siborong-borong District, North Tapanuli Regency is one of the districts in North Sumatra that has a superior commodity based on Arabica Coffee exports. Arabica coffee produced in Siborong-borong has high appeal and competitiveness internationally because it has a unique taste. Coffee from Siborong-borong which has been designated as a superior variety of Arabica coffee, namely Sigararutang coffee, has great potential to boost the potential and popularity of Indonesian coffee. Despite having high potential in the Arabica coffee sector, the general public and coffee farmers in Indonesia do not know much about the story behind coffee processing from plants to finally being consumed in cups. This is due to the lack of education about coffee, especially in Siborong-borong. Through an issue-based design approach, the Immersive Coffee Experience project which presents the concept of a direct coffee processing experience with the theme "The Art of Coffee" in Siborong-borong District was carried out as an answer to this issue. This facility is intended to educate the general public, as well as coffee farmers about the art behind coffee processing, especially post-harvest, which will also be a tourist attraction for local and foreign communities. This is also expected to improve the standard of living of local coffee farmers, as well as develop the potential for educational recreation facilities based on nature, art and history about coffee in Indonesia. text
