With the growing disruptive technologies, companies feel the need to change their business models as well as how they do their supply chain to keep up with the trends. Despite the many potential benefits of digitizing the supply chain process, some companies face challenges in doing the transition. Some companies even consciously choose to not digitize their company. This problem especially still occurs in developing countries such as Indonesia. This dissertation aims to explore the barriers and reasons for a company to digitize their supply chain through a case study of an Indonesian publishing company, PT XYZ. The purpose of this research is to find out the company’s experience with technology and examine the organizational and cultural aspects that contribute to the limitations in supply chain digitization by using a qualitative research approach. Despite the availability of digital technology and the awareness of the importance of digital transformation, the company faces a challenge to fully leverage the use of digital technology to help the supply chain operations. This dissertation also provides recommendations for the limitations that the publishing company faces. The strategy focuses on change management and organizational readiness. By addressing these limitations, the company can improve their competitive advantage and have more efficient production processes. text |
