They have some superior properties, especially in mechanical strength, thermal and chemical stabilities. Examples of ceramic materials are zeolite and bentonite. They are both alumino-silicates which has ability as adsorbent. Zeolite also has the ability to exchange cations. Membranes of bentonite and zeolite with various compositions have been prepared in this work. Membrane with composition of bentonite : zeolit = 50 : 50 has a highest retention of Cu2+ ions among the others. This result can be caused by the influence of capacity ion exchange of zeolite. text
