The elements referred to are components. There are two conditions for the components or system being studied: functioning and failure. When the condition changes from functioning to failure, information can be inferred from this event, specifically the duration for which the system or component functioned. This research will study reliability, which is the probability that a component or system functions for a certain period of time, and the probability distributions used. The research begins by examining how components are arranged in the system and the probability distributions used for the component's life duration. From this information, an explanation for component reliability is obtained, and system reliability is built. The purpose of this research is to delve deeper into information regarding reliability and the probability distributions used. The method used in this research is a literature study from references in the form of statistics books and reliability theory books. Examples are given for systems with their components life distribution had been explained before. Influence of modification in amount of component and changing in components’ life distribution’s parameters is reviewed through those examples. From the presentation of theory and examples, detailed information about reliability is obtained. text |
