description |
This study focuses on the meticulous planning and proposed implementation of Agile methodologies in developing a back-office application aimed at enhancing the internal operations of PT. SMRTA AMERTA ADIWARNA, particularly for their Sukhakala photobooth brand. Operating in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving industry, the company faces significant challenges related to operational efficiency, data accuracy, and the necessity for real-time decision-making to maintain and strengthen its competitive edge. As Sukhakala continues to expand its presence across multiple locations, the complexity of managing these dispersed branches has become increasingly apparent, underscoring the urgent need for a cohesive system that can streamline operations and significantly improve overall business performance.
The research process commenced with a thorough identification of the key operational challenges faced by the organization, derived from comprehensive interviews and focus group discussions with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including C-level executives, finance teams, business development professionals, operations teams, and branch owners. These discussions highlighted several critical issues, such as significant inconsistencies in sales data reporting across branches, operational inefficiencies that hinder timely decision-making, challenges in financial management due to the lack of integrated systems, and a notable absence of detailed performance analytics necessary for informed strategic planning. The current fragmentation in data management and reporting processes has led to delays in addressing operational issues, inaccurate financial statements, and missed opportunities for capitalizing on growth potential.
To effectively address these challenges, the study proposes the development of a back-office application utilizing Agile methodologies, which are well-suited for projects requiring iterative development, continuous stakeholder feedback, and the flexibility to adapt swiftly to evolving business needs. The planning phase of this project involves a detailed analysis of the essential features required by the application, including real-time revenue tracking to ensure accurate financial oversight, transaction monitoring systems to enhance operational transparency, comprehensive voucher usage tracking to prevent misuse, and robust performance analytics to support data-driven decision-making. By employing the Agile framework, the development process is structured into focused sprints, each dedicated to the incremental development of specific features, thereby ensuring that the application is continuously refined to align with user requirements and the company's strategic objectives.
The anticipated outcomes of implementing this back-office application include a significant improvement in operational efficiency across all branches, enhanced accuracy in financial data reporting, more effective financial management practices, and the ability to make more informed, timely decisions based on real-time data insights. By providing customized tools and real-time data tailored to meet the unique needs of each division within the organization, the application is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the company’s long-term strategic goals and driving sustainable business growth.
This research contributes to the broader field of business technology by illustrating how Agile methodologies can be effectively leveraged to address complex operational challenges in a rapidly growing enterprise. The findings underscore the critical importance of adopting a user-centered approach when developing technological solutions, ensuring that these solutions are not only aligned with business objectives and adaptable enough to support continuous growth and evolution in a competitive market environment.
