INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/85805 Sustainable road network infrastructure development plays an important role in supporting every aspect of the activities of various sectors in Indonesia, including the National Capital of the Archipelago. The Balikpapan – Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road is part of the road network for the National Capital, Nusantara. The design of the Balsam Toll Road network infrastructure must be able to support all mobilization needs and long-term usability challenges. Balsam Toll Road traffic estimates during the design life were obtained using transportation planning modeling. The modeling results show a traffic flow of 6054 vehicles per day in 2024 with growth of 5.14% per year until traffic is found to be 42754 vehicles per day at the end of the plan life in 2064. In the geometric design of the Balsam Toll Road, the toll road of 6 km long is designed using a 4/2 D type toll road with a design speed of 100 kmh. The main road is designed with 4 PI (horizontal alignment) and 8 PVI (vertical alignment). The pavement is designed using continuous reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP), with a concrete slab thickness of 30 cm, a thin concrete sub-base of 10 cm, and a class A great foundation of 15 cm. The Balsam Toll Road drainage is designed using a trapezoidal side ditch channel with dimensions of b = 0,6 m and h = 0,5 m, and also with 4 reinforced concrete box culverts with dimensions of 1,5 x 1,5 x 1 m. The total estimated construction cost of the Balsam Toll Road project is IDR 625,641,981,927.97. The method statement of construction of the Balsam Toll Road project follows technical specifications which refer to the standards of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works - Directorate General of Highways, namely General Specifications for Freeway and Toll Roads. text
