Summary: | The significant growth of the global palm oil market has led PT. ABC to expand its factories to meet market demand. However, during the expansion project, several issues arose concerning time, cost, and quality, with project delays being the most significant contributor to these problems. The goal of this research is to find solutions to the issues that occur during PT. ABC’s project expansion. The research methodology involves exploring business issues, collecting data, and conducting root cause analysis through thematic analysis and Pareto charts. The root cause analysis identifies three main causes: project management practices, project team issues, and contractor or vendor-related issues. To find solutions, these three causes are analyzed using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. Project management practices encompass the processes and tools used to plan, execute, and monitor projects. Common problems within this system, such as inadequate communication management, were identified. For project team-related issues, a quantitative method will be used with reference to strategic management capacity. For contractor and vendor-related issues, it is important to find the best method in the selection process to improve the performance of the contractor or vendor involved in the project. From this research, it was observed that business solutions to overcome the problem include improving resource planning, developing a communication plan, and implementing the Analytical Hierarchy Process in contractor or vendor selection. The limitation of the study is the lack of perspective from the cost view. Given that project delays have a significant impact on costs, it is crucial to conduct further studies to quantify the actual financial losses incurred. |
