Summary: | LRT Jabodebek officially began operation on August 28, 2023, serving as an additional option for public transportation users in the Jakarta area and its surroundings. As a public transportation system, LRT Jabodebek must have high reliability. This ensures that the trains are always in prime condition and is unlikely to experience breakdowns or failures during operation, adhering to the standards outlined in SNI IEC 62278 regarding RAMS for railway vehicle. Research related to the reliability analysis of the LRT Jabodebek bogie was conducted because the bogie is one of the main systems in the train. The bogie functions as the main structure that supports the entire weight of the train and guides the movement of the train on the tracks.
The research was conducted through several key stages: identifying the structure and function of the LRT Jabodebek bogie system, identifying relationships between bogie components, determining failure potentials using failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), assessing failure risk through criticality analysis (CA), and evaluating system reliability using fault tree analysis (FTA). Failure mode and failure rate data for each failure mode was obtained from a literature review, as LRT Jabodebek is still in its early operational stages.
The study identified 30 failure modes accross 15 components within 4 subsystems in the LRT Jabodebek bogie system. Three failure modes were identified as the most critical: loosened hub, tread buildup, and excessive wear, all of which relate to the wheel component. The failure rate of the LRT Jabodebek bogie system was found to be 9,22E-04 h-1 and the MTBF was 1084 h. Without inspection and maintenance, a 90% reliability level is achieved within a 114-hour operational interval.
