Description
Summary:Farming in Indonesia is deeply interwoven with the nation's identity, encompassing tradition, sustenance, and culture. However, the agricultural sector is undergoing a significant transformation driven by technological advancements. Agridesa, an agritech company, is at the forefront of this movement, pushing boundaries and setting new standards. This thesis explores the key factors that contribute to Agridesa's sustainability amidst widespread failures in the agritech sector, through the lens of the Resource-Based View (RBV). This thesis aims to understand the key factors contributing to Agridesa’s sustainability despite the prevalent failures in the agritech sector. Additionally, it seeks to develop strategic recommendations for Agridesa to ensure its future sustainability and growth. The study adopts a qualitative research approach to explore the intricate dynamics between technology, tradition, and sustainability within Agridesa's operations. By employing semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis, the research delves into the experiences and perspectives of Agridesa’s stakeholders, including its CEO, project coordinator, agronomist, shareholder, and representatives from farmer associations. The findings reveal critical success factors that have enabled Agridesa to maintain and grow its operations. These include the integration of modern technology with traditional agricultural practices, implementation of environmentally responsible agri-input protocols, and proactive stakeholder engagement. This research concludes with strategic recommendations for Agridesa, emphasizing the enhancement of data-driven strategies, stakeholder collaboration, and the balance between innovation and traditional wisdom. These insights aim to contribute to the broader discourse on sustainable agricultural practices and the role of agritech innovations in achieving economic viability, environmental responsibility, and social acceptance in Indonesia.
